Introduction | I teach contemporary lit and creative writing at Oakland University in MI. I've had a literary novel (NEW LIGHT) published with a small press (Black Heron), and also write YA fiction (representation: Kelly Sonnack of Andrea Brown). I do the occasional review (used to review for PW regularly, also Rain Taxi and ABR). I am really excited by the opportunities to connect with like-minded readers and writers. The whistling puppy can be found in the first post I made. I love the little video clip because the puppy in it is very young, only a few weeks old, but it is eagerly connecting with its person, who is whistling at it. Every time the man whistles, the puppy whistles back with a reedy piping little howl. Inter-species love, baby. |

What's the most amount of sand you've ever had in your swimming trunks?
I once had so much sand in my bathing suit that it looked like I was giving birth. Only I was 11.
